OPEN ARMS COMMUNITY AT A GLANCE
Serving our neighbors together
Open Arms Community seeks to mitigate the effects of poverty, low educational achievement, addiction, and socio-economic and racial prejudice by offering programs specifically designed to address these issues. Since 2000, we have been doing this with the help of volunteer staff, most of whom are Christian servants seeking to live out their faith and offer hope, peace, joy and love to their neighbors.
ACTIVITIES
Bringing Change
TUTORING
Helping children achieve
At Open Arms Community, we have dedicated volunteers with knowledge and experience in the field of education. These volunteers stay with the same children throughout their time with us at Open Arms. Each child is given individualized attention and encouraged to build the skills they need to succeed in school and in life.
*During the pandemic, our tutoring program has been modified. We have become a Remote Learning Center in cooperation with Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and Forsyth Promise.

FOOD AND PAPER PRODUCT DONATIONS
Blessed to be a blessing
With the help of our ministry partners, we are able to provide food and other necessities to families and neighbors in times of need. One way we do this is through a Blessing Box located outside our center. Anyone can drop off or pick up food from the box at any time, no questions asked.
We also have a pantry which we stock with food used for providing meals to the families who participate in our programs each week. During the pandemic, we delivered food and other goods to families in need.
