VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME

This is one of the most important ways to help our outreach ministry. We believe the best way for our initiatives to be successful is for the community to actively get involved. This is an easy and efficient way of contributing to the great work we do at the Open Arms Community.

Whether you want to come one evening to prepare a meal, one weekend a month for special time with our older youth, or a couple of hours each week to help elementary students with their learning, get in touch with any questions about how you can volunteer your time to serve our community today. We also like to hear from folks who have ideas for special events like concerts or soccer clinics!

We are currently operating our Winter and Spring programs. There are lots of opportunities to get involved!

Current volunteer opportunities include:​

• Saturday afternoon every week: hang out with teens and pre-teens as they eat lunch, talk about life, learn about God, and learn some life skills through a wide variety of activities. 

• Weekend of your choosing: group project - *basement cleanout - *It's a dirty job, there is mud and mold.

•  Help students in grade K-2 or 3 with their reading skills on Tuesday evenings

•  Help students in grade 4 - 5 with their social/emotional skills on Tuesday evenings

• Drive the van on Tuesday evenings to bring students to and from our community center

•  Prepare a meal for Tuesday evening or Wednesday night.

• Do some gardening for us (we love flowers out front, but don't always have time to care for them ourselves)

• We have a list of repairs around our building. If you're handy, let us know if you can help.

• Plan and prepare a special event for the spring or summer (a fall festival? a concert? How can you use your gifts to bless our community?)

• Help us collect school supplies for next year!
